About pianoBoat

the pianoBoat project is a new multi-arts venture which combines live music, visuals and narration. An illuminated fabric boat hull built around a bike trailer holds a piano-harmonium and musician. The piano player provides a live soundtrack to the scenes projected on the sail of the boat. The visuals are a combination of live shadow puppetry and animation. Building on the successes of the cult amateur underground Melbourne-based Stories From The Ground, the new project is focused on undertaking a core program of grass-roots performances and associated interactive workshops with children and community groups. the pianoBoat project embarks with the aim of simultaneously sharing and collecting stories from around the country, ones that locate and elucidate on the intimate implication of humanity as indivisible from our enveloping environments (and of course from their associated issues).
